Michael Harrington Looks At Democracy
An Election Special
Even with the Rainbow Colalition registering more voted than ever before, the 1988 electorate turned out an all time low. In this twenty eight minute program, Micheal Harrington begins to de-mystify the inner workings of the American political process. As Co-Chair of the DSA and author of "The Other America" and numerous other books, Harrington brings a historical perspective to the 1988 presidental campaign. He argues that transformation of existing Democractic party by progressive constituents is a viable alternative to building a seperate party, something that hasn't been done sucessfully since the mid-19th century.
