This program, part of Pacifica's Home Front series focuses on the controversial environmental issues facing city-dwellers from coast to coast. Hosts Larry Bensky, Pacifica National Affairs Correspondent, and Amy Goodwin, award-winning News Director of WBAI, discuss these important issues with a panel representing governmental, corporate, educational and consumer viewpoints in front of a LIVE studio audience. Panelists include: Albert Appleton, New York City Commissioner of Environmental Protection and former President of the New York Audubon Society. Robert Bullard, author of "Dumping in Dixie" and long-time activist in the area of environmental justice. Eric A. Goldstein, senior attorney with the Natural Resources Defense Council, environmental lobbyist and author of "The New York Environment Book". Joel S. Hirschhorn, industry consultant specializing in pollution prevention, waste reduction and green products whose clients include 3M, Chevron, Union Carbide, and Lawrence Livermore Laboratory. Marjorie Moore, Program Director of the Community Environmental Health Center at Hunter College, and founding member of the Harlem and Bedford-Stuyvesant Lead Poisoning Prevention Projects.
